black powder upper, the receiver is likely unchanged, so no new classification of the ar-15 is my guess. Neat though.

After centrefire semi-auto rifles were banned in the UK, Guy Savage (Sabre Defence) started making them as straight-pull rifles, however he also made one prototype semi-auto .223 shotgun. I.e. an AR-15 with a 24-inch smoothbore barrel, so it was classed the same as a bolt-action rifle.

However, seeing as detachable box semi-auto shotguns can only be owned by members of practical shotgun clubs (not many of them, maybe 2,000) and it had the accuracy of a thrown custard pie, he decided not to manufacture them...
