Anyone know of a current builder/gunsmith that works on Sharps/1885's/rollers in Western Canada? Looking for a single shot specialist. Thanks in advance...

The only one that comes to mind that specializes in western arms is Peter at Rusty Wood in Mission BC

I think Ron Smith is still doing gun work, at least he did my last two 1885's.
He would at least be able to give you the name of a good gunsmith if he is not active right now

Ron Smith rebarreled and basically restored an early thickside Winchester 1885 for me a couple years ago. He worked his magic and the gun, whose former owner suggested that I throw it in the river as I crossed the bridge near his house, now shoots like a laser beam. I restocked it, but all the mechanical credit goes to Ron. Contact him by mail or phone (note: have a little patience as his hearing isn't that great) and discuss your project. His work is truly top notch. He is a master craftsman of the old school.
