I was bored today so I thought I post some pictures

The top rifle fits into the case, it is a Willam Powel 450/400 2 3/8 BPE rifle made in 1880
The second rifle is a Renette from Paris, it is a 20 bore rifle with a case length of 1 5/8 long
The third rifle is a 57 cal muzzlelaoder by Hugh's of London
Then a Westley Richards 12 bore rifle shipped in 1851
Plus a Pedersoli 58 cal double
 
Beautiful!! I have not even been in the same room with one, let alone five. I have always dreamed of owning one. I guess the only one I'd ever be able to afford is the Pedersoli. Do you shoot them all? Were they all in that fine condition when you purchased them? What would a .577 caliber one go for?
 
Here are a couple of more doubles; first is by Lang in .577 Boxer (Snider) and the second is unusual and is by Lancaster; 12 guage oval bore. The oval bore is true rifling but think of two very broad grooves that each span 1/2 of the barrel. The bore is .018" out of round

mooncoon, I like the Lang, but I am a sucker for the underlever guns, after reading Dantforth's comments I got thinking that here is likely 30 or better years of serching and scraping up money in those 5 guns. From when I started shooting and collecting 3 guns I wanted was a double rifle, a good Ross sporter and a Farquason single shot. I have been very lucky these have all come my way over the years but then I had to sell some good guns to get them when they showed up but that is life when you have no money.

It is a Holland and Holland Pardox 12 bore finshed in 1901.
I have fired all of these guns and they are fun even take them out hunting but not much in southern Ontario except deer to shoot with them and then just the muzzlelaoders

My first double was a .500 black powder express in new condition, by George Smith, serial 360. Some SOB smashed their way into my house and stole it 14 years ago. Since then I traded for a nice looking .360 but the bore was worn out. Traded that off for something. The Lang cost 5 guns in a trade and the Colindian (Lancaster) was about the same price. They are both a bit of a challenge to load for but hopefully will have time to work something up this year. I think that doubles are a challenge at the best of times to find the right mix of bullet and powder.

First of all your H&H is a sweetheart, a dominion I guess? I would hope that it is your deer gun if you are in southern Ont as the paradox is unreal on deer. I have a 12ga Rigby box lock paradox gun and have had nothing but fantastic results with it on deer. What kind of groups do you get out of the H&H @ 100yards, the Rigby will place 6 shots in about a 3'' group @100yards and I was wondering if that was typical of these guns ability. I recently shot some paradox bullets out of my fully rifled savage 210 just to see how they would perform and found that they were very accurate even out to 200 yards. There is very little paradox information available so I alway take note when some one displays one. I hope to find a Westley Fauneta in 20ga someday but fear that I may need to sell my house to pay for it with the present prices.

The H&H is a grade 3 gun which became the dominion so it is a back lock not a full sidelock. I carried it this year for deer but didn't get to shoot it. This is the first year I have got to get it working. I had tried some black powder loads and ball and the bullets with out much luck, it would be okay for 50 yard deer but then got using load from the double gun jornal and it came right in. I only shot it at 50 yards and it would keep the bullets in 3 inches no problem. My problem is that I keep buying this stuff then have to work all the time to pay for it so I don't get to shoot as much as I would like to.
I have a soft spot for Westley Richards guns also but as you said morgage the house which means a divorce so I have to be carefuly which would be bad

For me its not so much it being a Westley but they unreal performance of that LT-capped bullet. I know that the bullet cap is turned on a lathe and a real pain to make but feel that the results would be worth the effort. I am presently building a 20bore double rifle on a sxs shotgun action, so far the progress has been slow but I have now collected all the peices I need. My development loads were brutal in my 6 pound test gun so I have added about 5lbs of weight to it and now just have to wait for the snow to melt to do some more shooting. The finished gun will have 25"bbls and should weigh about 10lbs and the load is a nitro for black conversion of an original Alexander Henry 20bore rifle. The 570grn bullet is pushed by 6 drams of black powder which was not terrible to shoot out of the 11lb double rifle but the nitro load out of the 6lb martini action was brutal.

Thanks for posting the pics of those awesome rifles its nice to see that there is still some intrest.
