Black Powder Event (SW Ontario) - Saugeen Bluffs Maple Syrup Festival

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let everyone know about a great black powder event coming up in south western Ontario. The event has something for the whole family. I will be with my family in the living history section (part of the South Bruce Buckskinners) demonstrating historical activities and dress including black powder firearm demonstrations (flintlocks and cannon). Enjoy stepping back in time. Hope some CGN'ers can check it out with their families.

They are miniature table top cannons, but they sure are loud. Also a bunch of flintlocks and a matchlock. At least that is what was brought last year.

Here are some pictures from the Historical Area from this weekend's Saugeen Bluffs Maple Syrup Festival. There was alot more fun for the whole family not shown. You basically have to come out, this is the best maple festival around - though I might be biased

It was some crazy weather; sun, rain, snow and a crazy wind storm. It was a fun adventure with 7 people and two dogs in a 7x9ft tent. Though our wood stove kept us warm

No cannon this year, but we had a bunch of flintlocks, blunderbuss and a matchlock to boot.
