In my internet search for black powder mortars & cannons, I can across this Canadian pyrotechnic supply company located in Vancouver. Not only do they sell concussion mortars & flash pots, they also manufacture golf ball and wine cork mortars. I didn't even think about launching wine corks.

walmart has the bags of pick up balls for cheap normally i use them as targets for .22

Junk stores like value village always have lots of golf balls for a dollar or two a bag full.

My wife once worked for a fellow that had a 48 ft semi load of used golf balls (he had a lake behind his house and he used to hit a few into it after work every day). He offered me a 5 gal pail full, at the time i had no use for them, kicking my ass now.
