Black Powder shotgun loading ?

Currently reload for 12G. 2 3/4 Win AA hulls, 700X, Claybuster wads, Win 209 primers, 9 shot, 1 1/8.

Picked up a Stoeger Double Trigger Coach Gun. I know diddly about Black Powder but would love to load up a few boxes from time to time if it's possible.

Any help would be appreciated.

You'll want to use 2F blackpowder, old fashioned fibre wads(filler wad) and nitro cards(overpowder wad).
BP takes up a lot of space so most modern plastic wads won't work, also, they tend to melt and leave nasty residues in the barrel.
Also, try finding some paper hulls(Fed paper hulls work well), BP will ruin plastic hulls after 1-2 firings and will sometimes melt through.
I use anywhere from 2.75 drams to 3 drams of BP(75 grains and 82 grains respectively) depending on the payload.
I also recommend dipping one of the fibre wads in some BP lube(beeswax, crisco, etc) to make cleanup easier.

Make sure you pack everything down tight, don't leave any space between the overpowder wad and the powder or you'll get a kB!

I have used plastic hulls cut off to 2.5" with home made carboard wads and ffG Goex. Lymans Black Powder manual is a good read even for those who don't shoot it.

blackpowder is not too hard to load up

prime, throw you powder in(use a brass BP measure also id use real BP not pyrodex or 777), seat your nitro card and seat it down and compress it, then seat your lubed fiber wad(one or two depending on how much room is there and how much shot you will be using), then your shot and if you are roll crimping a over shot card.

id you not use your good hulls some cheap walmart bulk pack hulls or something like that this way when they melt you dont have to worry about wasting you good hulls

and if you are roll crimping a over shot card.

Mec Sizemaster which is currently set up with a good roll crimp for the semi and pump. Can change the setup if required.
