Black powder Skeet

At Oshawa during the Classic, 2 years ago I asked the club manager why the restriction about BP shooting because I wanted to shoot my Chas. Osbourne, "Ozzie" BP cartridge dbl and had done so the year before as many will remember. I was advised that the restriction was intended to keep only muzzle loaders off the fields because they slowed the squad down too much. There was no concern about BP cartridge guns at all. If there was a vacant field and a squad of front stuffers wanted to shoot, I think it would be okay if they asked first. Hope that helps.

While I enjoy skeet and shoot as often as I can, our outings are casual. We don’t keep score and just shoot to have fun. When I took my sxs caplocks, I didnt shoot the doubles due to the time to reload. The guys I was shooting with would have been ok waiting but there I didn’t want to be a burden anyways. When I take my flintlock, I will make sure there is nobody on a hurry with me. I can certainly see where some shooters might get annoyed if someone was shooting every session with a ML but struggle to understand why anyone would balk at someone wanting to do it once.
