Black powder source calgary?

Hey everyone, I want to start shooting a flintlock again but had bad experience with pyrodex. I'm all for shooting black powder but I cant seem to get my hands on any. And if it is for sale its close to $40 a pound! thats insane! At 100 grains a shot a guys not gonna shoot much. Anyways if anyone knows where i can get cheap black powder near calgary let me know. (Also where I can get some real 4f)

I have some 4f, but you'll have to pick it up in P/A SK......Hillfolk in Senlak Sk. handle black powder, it's not far from the Alta/Sk border...call 'em first to see if they have it on hand. They go to the gunshows in Sk and AB.,so maybe you can call them and arrange to meet at a show in AB. Too bad none of the sponsors at the top of this page will pick up the ball on this one, you know, the ones that claim to be all about service.
 
Thanks for the offer but it would cost too much in gas/time to make it worth while. So basically theres no reasonable source of blackpowder near calgary?
 
The Fort Whoop Up Black Powder Club in Lethbridge brings in bulk orders once a year too. Sometimes have some extra for purchase.

They always have a table at the Lethbridge gun show in Feb.
 
Well I contacted Ken and he said there should be some available after the new year. Price is now $19 a pound, $18 if I buy in a 25lb lot, but I really only need a few pounds. I could make a run to edmonton if some people would want to buy the rest off of me....

Anyone else in calgary seriously interested in cheap black powder?
