This is a slippery slope....

Clean burning does not equate to consistent groupings. I have ran the gambit : from Real GOEX BP right thru to Blackhorn 209 ( with numerous long since discontinued lines in between such as CLEARSHOT, AMERICAN PIONEER POWDER, JIM SHOCKEY endorsed $hit, IMR whitehots, Black Mag....all garbage groups although the bore was minty fresh.

I always return to FFG T7 for my inline, and GOEX for side lock.

they are pretty nasty in my mind there's no replacing good old BP also if you are using them in antiques triple 7 is not a good idea

Blackhorn 209 groups amazing in my TC inline and is very easy to clean.

But as the OP asked, "which is the cleanest", from my own experiences I would have to say the "Jim Shockys " stuff was the cleanest but also the weakest powder that I have used. Personally I prefer real Black powder with using just hot water to clean with an oil wipe down after.

If you can find some Goex "Clear Shot" somewhere (They stopped making it) - it is by far the cleanest burning. Just like smokeless powder.

Blackhorn 209 is available locally so I will try some of it. Has anyone here got experience using Alliant "American Select"?
