Black powder Vs. Smokeless

If you have a BP load that shoots a bullet at 1500fps and a smokeless load that shoots the same bullet to the same MV. can you assume they are
equal chamber pressure?

No they are completely different.

Pressure curves are very different between BP and smokeless.

No - they might, but probably don't, the same as two smokeless loads using different powders with the same MV probably don't usually produce the same peak pressure which is the aspect of pressure curves that concerns us for safety reasons.

Safety is determined by Peak Pressure.

Velocity is determined by area under the Pressure Curve.

So equal velocity does not indicate equal pressure with different powders.

Also black powder tastes better, while smokeless is better for snorting.
