Black Powder

Hi, I am wanting to get a flintlock but not sure where I can pick up some black powder. I live in Dawson Creek BC and dont know where to look for it.
 
In your neck of the woods I'd say you're in trouble. Your best bet would be to get together some other like minded individuals and order a bulk amount of powder (Hill Folk in Sakachewan will do this) to defer the shipping & hazmat costs. Apart from that I would try gun shows (Prince George May 02-03, Grand Prairie June 20-21) and hope there is a supplier there (and there usually is) or make a trip a down south (Del Selin in Veron sells Goex). Black powder substitutes like Pyrodex RS are easier to ship but you're still going to need true black powder (4Fg or 3Fg) for the flash pan. Pyrodex burns way too slow for the flash pan.

There is an outfit in BC that sells black, I don't know, some Blasting Supply outfit, somebody on here knows them and will pipe up. Hillfolks are great to deal with and can even get the Swiss BP we all know and love, but I don't believe they can ship it, you'd have to go there and pick it up. MacLeods rings a bell, maybe...alzheimers........
 
There is normally some at the dc sportsman show april 4-5 at the curling rink but they ask $28 a lb.The Kamloops antique show is the better deal as hillfolk go there and it's about $20 a lb plus 3 arena's of stuff to see.
 
Thanks guys, I will check out the Dawson Creek gunshow and if they have some I will get it but if not I am always up for a drive to Sask.
