hey, and sorry.
I'm not sure if this goes here or if it's even something to be spoken about but, I'd like to hear what Canadian firearm owners have to say.
I personally plan on getting either a Bushmaster ACR, or a Kel-tec RFB at the end of the month here. As always it depends on how the financials are. But I feel a bit rushed, like I should get something right away or I'm going to be stuck with having to get something used of the EE at an inflated price for what seems like the next two years. If I can even find it for sale on there.
With the panic buying that happened in the US during the New Year and all the manufacturers stating that they're at full throttle and still giving wait times of 2 to 3 years for even the US market.
The Canadian market has always had to wait till the manufacturers and suppliers were done feeding the US market before we got our fill. There still are many black rifles out there in Canada it seems, I went into P&D in Edmonton the other day and their back corner was lined with AR's and other nice rifles, as well as Milarm.co. but when those all find homes, are more coming in promptly?
I don't think a panic happened up here nor will it really, and black rifles sell slowly up here due to economics of the average firearm owner who most can't go out and drop 2k+ on a nice rifle on a whimsy. BUT...
I do see some pretty ridiculous wait times starting to build here because of what happened in the states, even for Canadian wait times it’s bad. You’ve seen it too. It feels like any orders placed by our suppliers and vendors before the panic is going to be coming in this spring/early summer. But after that we're going to have to wait 2 to 3 years until we see new stock in the Black rifle department, and by then there may be huge backorder lists. From what I've read on US forums it's still kind of hard to get any new rifles or the ammunition for them. Who knows how long that will last, I can only go by what the manufacturers are saying for wait times.
The trickle down to Canada of what happened in the south, to me, means that whatever orders were placed before that time period will come in, and after that. There's going to be little to nothing for a very long time.
But that's just me, just what I see. Am I a nut job for thinking that? What do you think what’s going to happen to the Canadian black rifle market this year and the next?
