Black rifle newby ???

Is there some place to learn about these type of rifles.

How they operate? What does each part do? What is the difference in trigger types? 1 or 2 stage??

I am very interested in buying one and would like to know more about them.

I shoot ipsc now and would like to do a little 3 gun.

Go to AR15.com there is articles on every aspect of the rifle, from parts, to builds, to anything else you need to know.

Try the Brownells site, their guntech video series shows how to build an AR from scratch as well as describing how all the parts come together. It is in small segments so you can pick and choose which parts you want to watch.

I was in the same boat a while ago and this gave me enough info to feel educated.

Depending on where you're located, you could attend a 3 gun match and watch. In my neck of the woods most shooters have little issue loaning out their guns if you'd like to test drive them and some matches have guns to rent/borrow.
