Black rifle prices

i feel, it is practical to cut out the middleman,

While it may seem like it's practical, big firearm companies aren't going to take orders from each and every gun store in Canada for a couple rifles here, couple rifles there.

Are you not the sole distributor for most of the manufactures you sell?

Then the dealers should form a group or co-op and order together.

Cut out the middleman yourselves...yes, I've never run a business. ..but listen to me now and believe me later.

Seems like there is a lot of resentment from consumers about prices, people are wising up...

Gun stores are saying they're not gouging us, that it's Canada, that it's the distributor, that it's the manufacturer, that it's santa claus...

Seems like ironguns is offering excellent prices yet still running a business...

Doesn't take much to figure out there is an uneven equation here...

Maybe the consumers should group together and just purchase from the lowest price offered, there's another name for that as well starts with boy finishes with cott.

It is not the dealers that are causing the high prices, it is the taxes and tarrifs that accumulate when they are imported.

Sorry to break it to you... it has nothing to do with that. We are getting gouged by Canadians. You can not convince me that our prices are 50-100% more then the prices in the states!

explain to me how we have socialism?
we can import ourselves, we have irguns and the old guard retailers.
Look it was a a tounge and cheek comment but I am tired of trolls or troll rambling on in every thread about prices and out right making stuff up.

Hey you through the "Socialism line" out there not me, I was keeping the thread on topic...

And what do you think is actually being made up exactly?....I find that a very derogatory remark....

If you don't like the thread then don't read it...

The problem is we as a community have seen prices fall like crazy recently since Irunguns came on to the scene, that has been the trend.....

Its not directed at you.
CO-OP did you say that no..
I stick by my socialism line.
It wasn't directed at you.
so I wasn't saying you made anything up.

read the marstar thread John has a new container coming or something you can see the making stuff up thing for yourself.

For a few yes. Why?

Then the dealers should form a group or co-op and order together.

Dealers would have to work together. Then where is it shipped to? What if one dealer backs out? Who collects the money, or does the manufacture still have to chase individual stores? Who does the paperwork for the exports? Who collects and pays the tax and duty on the import? Who's responsible if the shipment is seized or sent back?

So it's o.k to charge more becuase it's NR?

That is why they do. People think it has more value.

It's supply and demand.
There are way more demand for tavors in the states, hence cheaper pricing.
It has nothing to do with NR or not.
The Israeli made tavor with 15" barrel is the same price of NR tavor.

And like someone said... The canadian price have not fully adjusted to the weaker dollar yet.

I can't believe this has made it to 14 pages of whining about prices.

V:I:

I buy what I want for the price I feel like paying. I don't compare US prices to Canada for many reasons. One of which is wages and cost of living are much lower in the US than Canada. It's all relative.

lets pull up something here and use a real item.
Knight's Armament SR-15E3 IWS MOD1 - (first link i found with in stock...this wasnt bargin hunting) http://www.rockwellarms.com/Store/P...ment-SR-15E3-IWS-MOD1-Carbine-16-Barrel-30351
MSRP $2209.99
USA- actual retail price of $2139.95
Canada - actual retail price of $2750
so, lets say they made 30% profit that is $631.98 margin with a cost of $1507.97
now lets say they get 10% discount for mass volume (no mfrg gives 10...thats unheard of) price of $150.79...generously...cost is now $1356.23
profit on the sale of 782.77

canadian shops without a massive volume discount...
Cost of it in the states to the store $1507.97, add in your $200 to get it here thats $1707.97
tack on your 30% margin $2220.361 (damn close to MSRP) so why is the extra $550 ish really required? lack of consumer options?
profit of $512.39
so, higher volume sure you may get 5% discount, never 10%.. but whatever... if it was a 5% volume discount which is most likely then the USA shop profits about $75 less.

Canada profit $512.39
USA most likely profit $706.98
want to tack on the $200 "import"to the consumer, fine, that balances it out making Canadian profit of $712.39...still missing the boat on a additional $300 (or 20%) markup that isnt needed.

i just dnt see a restricted tavor in canada to be worth as much as a non restricted one..in the states you can shoot whatever you want out on crown land, in canada it has to be non restricted, so the non restricted offeres more value for the money, so i would pay a little more, but not much.
whats it cost for a non r barrel and to have it re-certified as non r?

I'll go right ahead and say no gun is sold by a retailer at a 30% profit margin.

It is a trade off , NR black rifles fetch a premium because there are not a lot that make that list .New toys that everyone wants fetch a premium Tavor, xcr, ksg etc ,brand names fetch a premium. But how many US gun nuts drool over our Norinco`s or sks` or other non North american manufactured guns that we can import and buy for prices in the hundreds`as opposed to much higher prices in the US... IF any of them meet the import restrictions. Plus last time I checked .22 or any ammo was still available and priced pretty close to what it used to cost up here before the mass buying started in the US .
