Howdy, gang
So I'm looking at purchasing a non-res black rifle in the near future and would like to compile a spreadsheet or chart comparing the various rifles to each other. Now, most of the technical information is pretty easy to come by, however I'm having quite the time finding a variety of range reports for them--real life, honest to god range reports too, none of this "Yeah, well I read on M4C that some guy's buddy's dad's cousin got consistent sub 1/4" MOA groups at 600 yards with his XCR off-hand during Hurricane Irene." Those don't do me any good.
To sum up what I'm looking for is:
- Real life range reports of your non-res black rifle including avg group sizes and ammo used.
- How you like it; any issues you've had or upgrades that made a big difference
- Your overall experience to date with the rifle
- What your primary use of the gun is. Plinking, competitions, hunting, taking pictures for the internet, etc.
Thanks in advance!
Like I said I'm going to compile a comparison chart, so when I'm done I'll post it up for your viewing pleasure.

lol, well I know that, but there's so much #### to wade through to find any useful information, hence why I'm asking for it to be condensed into one thread :p
Wu-Tang fo' life.

There really is lots of info on this - try to narrow it down to the 2 or 3 you like (based on price, quality, looks) -

- then ask about their accuracy & reliability (or any other questions you may have)

Honestly, your best bet would be to ask owners of the rifles you are interested in & get feedback on them via PM. That's what I did & everyone I PM'd gave me great advice & lots of detail.

Your comparison chart will end up more like a Database. The variables of ammo, barrels, manufactures, etc. will cause far too much variation in accuracy and precision. Not to mention, the user who is the biggest variable of all!

Like others have said, pick a couple rifles in your price range and then start debating.

The reason I'm asking for reviews, etc to be compiled into one thread:

I know to search the forum. I know how to search the forum, however I still have never had any luck with the search function.
If you've posted a review before, you know where it is and it's not a huge chore to re-post it, catch my drift?

Cancer - It wouldn't really. There are only three cailbres to compare, really. 7.62x39, .308 and .223. Obviously the vast majority of black rifles are in .223 so that certainly narrows it down. I was planning on taking the overall average group size for each gun. This would yield the most accurate result of how the rifle performs overall.
If I were comparing ARs, then yeah it'd be a huge database lol, but I'm only comparing non-res rifles of which there are really only a handful of.

I'm afraid I have to agree with everyone else. there are LOTS of threads with range reports for each non-res black rifle in here. Go into advanced search and make sure to set it so it searches back at least a year. there are really too many variables to say which is the most accurate. You're going to find 75% of the info is preference and opinion.

you do not know how if you are asking this question. This is how you get your range report

search xcr, titles only, timeframe a week and older, forum black and green rifles.

that will bring up a 150 hits and you will have tons of range reports to peruse.

then do one for 180 for the 180 b, then kel for the keltec su-16 and rfb and whatever else suits your fancy. The search function works.

Also you are asking people to search for you. Example here is me comparing the 858 to the ar 180b

Now you should realize that the thread's location, http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=386681&highlight=180 is not on the tip of my tongue and would require me to search for it.

If you came to this forum looking for help you have come to the wrong place...I once made that same mistake! I'm surprised nobody has played the "anti-gunner looking for too much info" card yet!

I have played around with both the Swiss Arms Black Special and Rob Arms XCR. Both are surprisingly very capable rifles out of the box, especially once you find a handload they like. My Black Special shoots a hair over 1/2 moa @ 200m. The best I got from the XCR is 3/4 moa but will admit that I haven't spent that much time finding the perfect load to feed it. I also don't have a safe place to test the rifles at further distances. I will say that these rifles are much more capable than most think...the problems and inconsistencies encountered are normally from the fool behind the trigger! Happy shooting and good luck finding more info!

I appreciate the input. Just a tip though, you can find all the threads you've created in your user control panel. This is why I was saying it's easier for thread starters to bring up their own threads.
