I just spent like 3 hours looking through a lot of the picture thread. Guys are showing off some really nice rifles. But my favourite are the ones with the (excuse my newbism I come from black rifles) the rails that surround the barrel. Like the mdt tac 21. Is this the only model? Is there others? I just love the look mostly.

Thanks

Accuracy International's AX AICS, XLR Industires, Cadex, and Ashbury Precision Ordnance are four companies that I can name off the top of my head that offer stocks with picatinny rails around the barrel.

got a problem with savages?

No, I own several. I just don't believe that the aftermarket industry has offer an option for the lowest common denominator. That's what the Axis represents. The cheapest rifle money can buy. I also find it quite improbable that the majority of people who are in the market for an $300 Axis would be interested in spending +$1,000 for a stock.

Will any of them fit savage axis .223 actions?

Not much out there for aftermarket Axis stocks. Boyds makes a few different wooden ones. If you want something tactical, you'd be best off making one yourself.

The short and long action Savages, (11 and 111 etc), and Stevens 200s have some more options available.

I bring this up to everyone I meet that is looking at a Axis.

If you want cheap, don't expect companies to make aftermarket support.

I mean really, a good 1 piece 20moa rail would cost 1/3 the price of your gun!!!

Sell it and buy one of the numbered series with a side bolt release. Options are wide open for these.

Yup only on the net do you find guys wanting to put a $200.00 rifle into a $1500.00 to $3500.00 chassis.
We HAVE a few Ashbury chassis for the Salvage rifles in stock, but strangely no-one so far wants to spend 10 times more on the chassis that they paid for the rifle.

^^^ That's because the ones that claim they do either don't have the money and possibly not even a rifle to begin with.
