So lots of interesting things going on in the commercial market side. Lets just say we are swamped. I have built a new facility on my property for the business to move into. Unfortunately, I don't think the business will ever move into it. The reason is, I have started looking for a 10,000 square foot new facility as I am currently in the process of a new project.

So I will announce it here first. Currently we are in discussions with equipment manufactures in Canada and Europe to source the equipment to produce new 9mm brass, along with jacketed projectiles. I don't have a clear time-frame on how things will unfold, or how funding will shake out. But this is a real possibility at this point in time.

As things develop I will keep you posted.
 
That's awesome news. Always great to have Canadian reloading products on the market! Good luck and hopefully I will get the chance to give you guys some of my money in the future.
 
Well, that's exciting. I have to say I am a little surprised that you think there is call for such a venture. Surely the worldwide capacity for producing 9mm brass and bullets is massive? Can demand be expected to outstrip supply for any length of time? Wouldn't there be more potential in a caliber where there are still many guns shooting, but the massive government orders aren't there to subsidize the lines anymore, like .38 Special?
 
As part of my due diligence, I would not be making a 7 figure investment unless I saw potential for returns. The Canadian consumer market is reasonably small, but currently a majority of my business is actually in the USA. I will always try and service the Canadian market and build capabilities to help further decouple the dependence on USA ammunition industry. For things like converting to different calibres like 38 Special. I would assume based on the quantities of brass I handle (2 million of pieces per month), that 9mm is consumed at 1000 : 1. It would actually be cheaper to turn the machine off and let it sit idle then re-tool for a run less then 10 million pieces.

Congratulations on the expansion and the view that the market is strong. Even with business out of country , Please don't forget our market share even as small as it may be. Great to be able to purchase Made in Canada items. Look forward to dealing with you . Thank you
 
That's pretty cool to hear.

Considering Campro seems to sell out 9mm every time they release a batch, I am sure there is a market for more projectiles even here in Canada, not to mention the USA.

It certainly has been a challenge at times to keep the business going, as there has been some serious downturns where I had lost faith. If anyone thinks that this is fun, or stress free... Unfortunately they are really mistaken. Just now I am getting ready to take the next big leap to move upwards. Once you get past the initial barrier to entry, things start quickly expanding on that new level. I have some goals in mind, but it seems once things start moving then you end up in a different position then you anticipated as both the floor (industry supply and demand) along with the target ( goals ) are always shifting. If this moves ahead I will probably have to hire 10 - 12 staff full time.

however consider the Canada/USA dollar if it changes to make the canuck Vick even again sometime in the next 5 years

Robertson composites did not build this exchange rate change into their contracts and it essentially broke them

Amazing. I just did my first order with you a couple of months ago and it was great.

I would absolutely welcome a Canadian manufacturer. Lord knows I do my best to single-handedly keep the market going with the amount I spend on ammo every year...
 
Great to have in country manufacturing, sell to everyone but always there to supply CANADA FIRST. We have seen with the vaccines and covid PPE ( and Ammo) what happens when we rely completely on other countries!
