New Kimber 1911,with black sights, can't pick up front sight at all on black or dark background, what is a quick easy fix?
Ie: paint ? Replace? Or is it to obvious, and those are the only two answers.

Cheap and easy fix is a dab of floresent paint bought from craft store or even floresent nail polish. I've even tried a dab of white out with good results.

I would try paint first, then a new sight if that does not work for you. Clean the sight with alcohol, 2 coats of white, 2 coats of orange. I used craft paint pens from Walmart.

acetone will work better then alcohol, but yep, lead hammers suggestion works well. You can even buy paint kits for sights from brownells. Nail polish works but doesn't stand up to cleaners that well

Thanks Darren, but not sure if I am gutsy enough to put paint on it just yet, maybe I will try and find a local gun guy, who is braver than I am.....any suggestions?

LOL I have it on the front sight of my M65 revolver, as Lead suggested, white base coat, orange over top. It does come off easily if you decide you don't like it. The original owner of that revolver had done the rear sight as well.....awful...orange on orange...i removed it and never looked back....I should have the sight paint kit around somewhere, you could borrow it if i can find it

Black sights on black targets are PPC shooters dream. The key or trick that PPC shooters use is employing a "smoker."
Smokers are devices that hold a mixture of carbide and water to produce a dense black sooty smoke that you apply to your sights. Just like race car drivers who have blackened hoods, the sight deposited soot makes the sight non-reflective and look flat black in colour. So treated sights show up clear on black targets like B27 & B34.
