hey guys just wondering if their are any glands beside the ones on the back legs that you have to cut off of black tail deer... i'm not sure if its different for bucks and does but as much info as you have would be nice! cheers

Here's my two bits worth. The best way to keep from getting any glandular substance on your deer, is to leave them the #### alone.
If your knife, or knives, was never in contact with the contaminant, you cannot spread it around, no?
Take some care when you skin the legs. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
I had a hunting partner that insisted that the leg patches had to come off. He'd hack away at them, get hair everywhere, and generally make a ####ing mess. Then he'd start cutting with the same knife. I didn't eat any of the stuff he handled. Wouldn't. Hair everywhere, and starting off with a dirty knife. Nice eh?
Give a bucks leg a sniff next time you have one.
They pee on their legs. Same legs that have the glands on them. The whole leg is generally pretty rank. But there isn't any on the inside of the skin.
Do you figure it's worthwhile to cut out a section of the leg, or a better bet to skin the whole leg?
Carry one knife? Two? Three or four? Carry a pressure washer and a tank truck of water?
It gets out of hand.
If it's not obvious, I pay little or no attention to the glands on the deer I harvest. Never had a raunchy piece of venison yet. But I don't home in on the juiced up, 'roid-raging type of rutting bucks, either.
