Do you have a link for the i phone app?
How do I get an app for the Android? I just got one and am still trying to figure it out.
I have seen them for iphone, and now i see ther is one for driod, but i still can't find one on BB. Anyone seen it?
Ah, you should think about that for a minute - an iPhone is $700+ replacement cost and shot timers range from $120-$200 depending on the make and model.I like the surefire app the best, it works better then my buddies expensive timer

A dropped timer on an indoor range floor stands a far likelier chance of surviving than an iPhone, Galaxy or Blackberry and it's a whole lot cheaper to replace or repair if it does die.
I've got my timer apps on my phone, but only for emergency situations. I feel far safer on the range with my little yellow timer.
You guys are just assuming it is running on a Iphone. the app is not running on an iphone, its running on a ipod touch (4th gen) that I already had. that you could likely get one new for the price of a dedicated shot timer. about 90 bucks new on ebay as of ten seconds ago so cheaper then just a shot timer that does nothing else. the app costs next to nothing and had many more features then his several hundred dollar shot timer
as far as dropping it if you are that concerned then get a shock proof case for it(they have cases that can stand up to a 50 bmg round at close range) I have run people through idpa courses with one and never been that clumsy. if your a clutz i would be more worried about dealing with guns then an ipod.
It also does about a million other things like runs my ballistic calculators with all my load data logged , keep shooting logs and shot trackers and can be used as an inclineometer, as well as give me temperature and barometric readings to calculate long rage rifle shots, I have apps for hand load price calculators and several other shooting apps,it also does varmint calls through the radio of a truck(another severely overpriced thing in a dedicated unit)
also is a high def camera and does video as well if your out hunting with your ballistic calculator. it is light years ahead of a shot timer for less money.
So you should think about that for a minute....
Sorry - just trying to be of assistance - you obviously have far more experience and knowledge about this than I.So you should think about that for a minute....

Wow sounds like a real Apple fanboy. Try to cut down on the cult kool aid......
I could care less about Apple. run the app on any device you want. pc/os or android. I used ipod as an example because it is what I happen to have experience with.
most any devise now a days will do so many things that for 90 bucks you can have a machine that does shot timer apps, that normally cost 1-200 dollars, it can do varmint calls that dedicated units sell for several hundred dollars, ballistic apps that would cost you several hundred dollars to get in a kestrel that cant even use the g7 drag models exc. one tool for 90 bucks replaces a thousand dollars of gear.
I just don't see the point of shelling out 200 bucks for something I can accomplish for 99.cents (or 91 bucks if you start from scratch). run the app on anything you want.
I did not mean to be so snappy but I kind of got offended by being told I should think about it for a second like I have no clue.I have put lots of though into my setup. it replaces many dedicated units in my setup and saved me hundreds and hundreds of dollars.
I was just trying to help people save themselves a few bucks by presenting an alternative.
Just becasue it can do it doesn't mean it is the best tool for that particular job. I can use a screw driver to drive in a nail for a 10th of the price of a good Estwing hammer but that doesn't mean I am going to.
There are many shoot timers on the market and many of them have a host of other capabilites, some can even be used a chronographs, can your ipod do that? Yes the apps are a good for practice and such but are a long way from being accurate and reliable enough to be used for matches where a 100th of a second can decide 1st and 2nd place. Also not everybody needs it to do the other apps, they may just want a shot timer.
