ok so I got a m305 from marstar great rifle second only to my svt 40 they shoot about the same 2inch groups but I would like to put a after market stock on my m305 been looking around and narrowed it down to these two.

I would like to hear from the people who own the stocks on what they like and don't like about them

I personally love the mod 0 always have plus its a all-in one package.

if there is a thread on this already please place a link for it cause I cant use the search at all apparently

edit
So after a little uming and ahing I got this instead of either so yah hope she shoots as good as Kate (dam right I name my hunters)

this is kate

I would like to thank you for your thoughts and advice on the bf and sage maybe someday ill get one but until then my m305 treats me well as is.

I have both... I love both.

The Blackfeather RS is going to be a couple pounds lighter than the M14ALCS/Mod 0

Yeah I was in the same dilemma so... Went with both. Honestly couldn't choose one over the other. I will echo H2OMan though, the sage is slightly heavier. I put a 22" into the sage and really enjoy it for long range (for me) type shooting. The blackfeather affords you the options of various AR furniture and it's more enjoyable to shoot offhand.

I've tried to pick between the two and I can't. Different animals but both very cool. If you plan on lugging the rifle around though I'd give the edge to the blackfeather.

thank you for your in sight I was just going to flip a coin and buy one but if the mod 0 is for longer range shooting ill get that weight does not bother me I lug my 91/59 "the cannon" around for hunting and its over 10lbs
does any one know if bashaw sports still sell the mod 0.

I wouldn't say it's for long range shooting only per say, thats just what I ended up using it for. I have a shorty in a blackfeather, a lower power scope and find its just easier to sling around.

Both use a proprietary oprod guide that bolts directly to the stock, that helps achieve better accuracy. My BF is fairy accurate, although I've only used factory ammo through it and havnt played much with the tensioners in the oprod guide, and sat and shot groups to see exactly where its at. I can tell you that the sage turned my norc into a hammer (at least compared to how it shot in the plastic stock) and with some handloads hope to beat the 1.5 moa challenge here on the forum with it. I have no doubt a properly tuned m14 in a BF can get the same results or better, its a fantastic piece. Bashaw does sell sage goodies and they are quite helpful.

You can't go wrong with either, basically pick the one that tickles your fancy and enjoy it. They are both fantastic stocks.

They both seem to provide good results for end users, lot's of positiives.
I would chose the sage as for one price it comes complete with Grip, collapseable buttstock assembly, adjustable cheek riser and includes the top railed handgaurd mounting system.
It seems like a better deal to me.
I'm not basing that on any biases by the way. Simply based on what you get (and don't have to buy extra) in the sage platform out of box, a complete chassis system.

The SAGE is almost complete out of the box, you still need to add a scope mount, and a trigger shoe.
The RS is not one size fits all like the EBR, you have many different combinations & possibilities to consider.
Building out the BF RS is an Ă  la carte adventure in personal customization, and the Blackfeather build is
typically lighter than a SAGE EBR built up in a similar fashion... don't forget the trigger shoe :)

Sorry to Hi jack the thread, but H20 Man, When you order the Blackfeather RS stock, is this one you have pictured what you get? That rifle is a work of art. I love the colour of it. I'm thinking of buying an M14, and building it up, with the stock pictured above... But on M14.ca's site, it seems as though it comes all black, not that nice dark bronze colour... I'm a total gun noob, so sorry if this is a stupid question.

I have the sage it weighs in at 14lbs with scope and loaded magazine. It is accurate 1 to 1.5MOA. It is heavy. nuf said

They have a number of colors available. If I recall correctly the colors include a green, bronze, FDE, black and maybe even a white.

Best to call or e-mail Frank and he will provide more information. He typically responds within a day.

Thanks for the reply! I emailed their info line. I'll see what they say. Looking forward to doing my first build.

All we can get anymore stateside is Black & FDE.

I swapped the FDE LSP for a black one, this is how she looks today.
