hey guys finally got my dominion arms m305 fitted into the black feather (btw amazing stock best purchase ever!) but have a question i need an AR buffer tube for the magpul prs stock. really confused on different types and really not sure which to buy. the pic i seen was essentially just a straight tube but all ones i have seen on vendors have the multiple position tubes. will they work?

You need a "rifle length" tube as opposed a "carbine tube". Available all over the place, but I'm fond of doing business with Wolverine Supplies.

Anything that can screw onto an AR will screw on to this stock.

This is pretty much what I have without the buffer and spring

thank you guys, i figured as much but wanted to ask just in case. hate buying something that i cant use lol

I had the same problem last week. So I ordered a rifle-length receiver extension from wolverine supplies. Excellent fit and finish on the blackfeather rs!

I have been considering a blackfeather since I got my m305 but Im wondering are they realy worth the money your paying for one? Do they make the rife that much more accurate, balance well, hows the recoil? I'm looking for honest user feedback before I decide.

I think that only you can make an assessment of "worth" since your needs, resources, etc. will be very different from others'. Personally, I love the look and fit of the Blackfeather and the receiver/stock interface is much better than with the original Norinco stock. I've had great results with mine (see 1.5 MOA Challenge) but I think if you properly bed and stiffen an M1A/M305 stock you can get most of the accuracy benefits of a BF, the exception being the ability to incrementally tune barrel tension. In terms of recoil, I find that upward barrel deflection is reduced but since I dont do heavy metal CQB it's of negligible benefit...to me at least.

The ability to accessorize with AR furniture, mount optics, etc. is also very nice if you want to customize your rifle. In the end, the Blackfeather is a great stock alternative to have readily available on the Canadian market and makes the M1A/M305 a much more flexible platform but it isn't a miracle device, just a really nice stock.

Here's a quick video I did of the Blackfeather a couple of days ago. I've posted lots of range reports with pictures, but I know people like to see a video of it in action when possible, so I slapped this one together. I'm not done with the video series yet. Head on over to the M14.CA section to view my past reports.

If you look closely, you can see the bullet zip across the screen and hit steel at the end of the video. Paper at 200, steel at 250; plates are about 10 inches wide.

You can see the accuracy I got with a sustained rate of fire. I get my best accuracy when I wait one to two minutes between shots. I actually shot three consecutive five shot groups at 300 which measured somewhere between .89 MOA and 1.2 MOA. My rifle is a standard M1A with a GI barrel.

I'd have to go back and look, but I'm sure that day I was using:

Commercial Winchester brass, 4x fired, annealed
168gr Nosler Custom Comp
Rem 9-1/2 primer
42.8gr, IMR-4064
2.812" COL
1.628" headspace.

I agree with Odd Shot, love my Black Feather stock. I youre concerned if it is appropriate for a Norinco since the stock costs more than the rifle, just consider that the stock will fit other rifles as well, you are not commited to using it on only the one rifle. Mine will live on the Norinco reciever as long as I own the rifle as it works that well!! (and looks cool as well).
