blackfeather stock arrived!

If you run the Blackfeather without our oprod guide installed you will have a true free floated M14 barrel which means the barrel to receiver joint will have zero support and the barrel will wobble around about 1/2" on firing, ruining accuracy and possibly eventually ruining your receiver from too much barrel joint flex.

Blackfeather was not designed to run without our oprod guide: it is the core of accuracy improvements for this product.

The ORG also includes advancements found in no other, such as barrel tension adjustment, which, in a 1000 round range trial with several types of ammunition, using 3 M14 rifles and 2 Blackfeather stocks, was shown to improve accuracy.

The oprod guide also supports and locks your barrel firmly to the lower stock in 4 different ways (not the least of which is a 1/4" x 20TPI frame bolt) and is built from a hardened 4140 steel.

Please read the installation guide and follow all of the safety instructions prior to firing your rifle for the first time.

If you need any advice or help in this regard, please call me direct. I am available 7 days a week.

Is it compatable with a heavy Douglas barrel?

Awesome kit.
Would Troy M14 Battle Rail fit Blackfeather stocks?

Mine arrived!
going to install my sightron and do some load testing at the range today!
The op rod guide was very easy to install. Mine only required minimal fitting to get a nice snug fit to the proper dimensions.
With a 22" barrel, the weight of the chassis (or lack thereof) balances perfectly with a magpul prs stock.
The gap behind the trigger group to the pistol grip looks goofy, but very natural

I'll be honest and say when I saw this stock in aluminum with no coating that it was not appealing. Now that I see it on an actual rifle and has the black coating it is quite appealing along with the write up of it. What is the buttstock on this one? Can any pistol grip fit?(magpul, etc) Front ferrule is on there? Price? I may have to re-think my SAGE build.

Check out m14.ca has all the info you need.

Nice setup - What angle mount did you use for the dot sight?
its some no name 22degree offset rail. wasnt sure if it was gonna work well so i cheaped out for the moment.

asfar as using irons, its do able if u get the correct scope mounts. my set up doesnt allow it, aswell i have rail covers in the way.

hit the range today, bench rest. nothing fancy 3'' groupings at 100m using federal 180g.
no black feather oprod installed.

the barrel isnt really free floating, the vltor top rail mounts to the stock oprod, reciever and replaces and clip feeder piece

I can't believe that you're not running a CASM mount after going to the trouble of getting the Blackfeather stock.

That thing makes me want another m14.

Not trying to hijack, but I'd like to share mine as well: :D

Hit the range tonight, with some basic handloads - no pics, sorry but:
1) the rifle does have a little higer felt recoil vs the USGI/chu wood stock. Nothing major. The balance is incredible.
2) everything is feels really solid now - the NM F/H sings!
3) first run of handloads (ran out of light) was 42.0 gr of imr 4064 with 150gr hornadys. I wasn't shooting great, but they grouped into a 2 and a bit group. Not impressive...yet. With more loads to run in the coming days, I'd like to see consistant 1.5 and don't doubt it can be done, maybe even a little less.
4) trigger feels very natural with the gap. The A2 grip sucks.
5) I had to remount my CASM, no problems after I spent the time to make sure everything was straight. The torque on the screws matters, but it's really not hard to figure out. - rest a broomstick (that's straight) on it as you tighten things down. Makes it wayyyy easier.
) I'm sold on the blackfeather - Now I just need to find me a shorty so I can buy another!

Nice looking rifle, but at 12 lb it better be chambered at least for the 416 Rigby or something similar. :)

No problem, also I think it's the magpul UBR on there. Any pistol grip will work as long as they don't have the extended beaver tail. Have to be like the moe K grip.

What is the buttstock on that one do you know?

Didn't you take my advice about NOT buying ONE? Ya were supposed to BUY TWO of them for that reason! :D

I'm gonna have to git one of them BlackFeather stocks for myself now! :)
Many, many aftermarket choices for the M14 lovers here....

Cheers,
Barney

Can we get them in pink so that we can name the gun MR FEATHER? I may actually get one of these stocks, well that was up until friday when I decided I need a new outboard motor for my fishing boat. Oh well, at least my brother is in town today
