blackfeather stock arrived!

Thats good news ...I remember M14CA telling me that now too .....
Was the area under the trigger pads on your factory shorty deeply inlet on the factory stock ??
Mine was that way and the others I saw were that way too.
And I assume you got it to pass the trigger test after assembly ??

Any pics ?? As no one has posted a pic of a factory shorty in one of these stocks yet .

It went in the stock NO problems

Those are great stock images. Get it? stock images? hyuk

Can you post a picture of it laying flat on the ground? I'd like to see that A2 grip and stock a little more

Why is it that everywhere I look the buttstock and tube costs $150.00 and the grip is like $50

Am I terrible at the internet?

Brownells seemed to have reasonable prices on tubes and buttstocks. A lot of the sponsored places didn't have much for inventory as of my hunt last night. At least in the colours and configs I was searching. Wolverine was excellent too, I actually got the buttstock there.

Blackfeather, Norc Shorty & Troy - sorta

Hi All,

So - I mated up a Blackfeather stock with a Troy top rail this evening.

First of all, if you are installing a Blackfeather read the instructions. I didn't, it cost me time and tears. Please allow me to serve as an example, just read the instructions.

In any case - the Troy doesn't quite fit since it seems the Blackfeather seems to ride a little bit further out towards the front of the rifle, and isn't scalloped in like the original stock at the front. I've made it work by disregarding some of the original Troy hardware at the front and installing other pieces backwards.

Anyhoo - cell phone pics.

And with some bling on it-

This is a Norc Shorty sporting a Hogue grip, Vltor Emod stock, Coast Guard brake, Troy Battlerail and of course Blackfeather stock. It feels really good - though the Troy rail makes it front heavy. Going to load the Emod full of batteries to try and balance things out.

Without the Troy, the balance is amazing. I'm thoroughly impressed by the fit and finish of the Blackfeather so far. Haven't shot it, but looking very much forward to....

Ok - also I just figured out that I'm a dumbass. Got the Troy front band mounted up properly. Nevermind the discarding and backwards stuff above.

For clarification purposes:

Are you saying the TROY battle rail is a direct bolt on upgrade to the Blackfeather RS without and modifications or changes?

I can't say that until I've shot it - but it looks that way.

The front band of the Troy isn't anchored the same way it would on a normal stock, though it doesn't appear to have any play in it. Won't be comfortable until I've had a chance to shoot it.
