I am looking for a lighter and ergonomic synthetic stock for my 10/22 that will accomodate a .92 barrel.

I am liking the appearance of the Blackhawk Axiom Stock with the extendable butt-stock.

Anyone have one that they can comment on or know where the best places to source one if I do decide to get one?

It looks like a nice stock. I was about to buy it before I did some more research. It seems there are some complaints on this stock regarding flex in the forearm. With the heat generated from the rifle, or even ambient heat, the plastic seems to become more pliable and will bend throwing your aim off. This is amplified if you plan to use a bi-pod, or a heavy barrel. The combination of the bi-pod and heavy barrel would make things even worse. This is not from my own personal experience, but from other peoples comments. It might not be a problem if you shoot freehand with iron-sights and a lightweight barrel. Slap a scope on it with a heavy barrel and a bi-pod, it might not be as accurate as you might have hoped. If you want a lighter and more ergonomic stock, the Tapco is a better option if you want to use a .920 BBL. Although when you stick a .920 BBL on there with the Tapco stock, it will shift the weight forward considerably unless it's a short barrel. Hope this helps.

Good to know thanks.

While my barrel is .920 it is a VQ Carbon Fiber BBl so weight isn't as big of a deal.

Right now I have it in a Butler Creek Synth Stock which I am quite happy with for now but isn't quite free floating, which is something I can probably solve on my own with some coarse sandpaper or a dremel.

also have a look at the Promag Archangel. Similar in concept and overall look to the one you mentioned.

Usually around $140 Canadian. I will probably get one of those once my paperwork all comes thru. So sometime in, oh, 2014 or so...

Getting a carbon fiber BBL was probably the best thing you could have done to lighten your 10/22. I don't think that the synthetic Butler Creek stock is heavy enough to warrant a replacement, especially if you like it. But if you've got $ to burn and want a collapsible stock, the Tapco or Promag Archangel are 2 options to consider. Personally, I love the feel of a .920 BBL in a Hogue stock. Dlask Arms has some for $99 in a variety of patterns (Love the Ghillie Tan).

I initially ordered a hogue stock however the dealer screwed up and sent a std barrel stock by accident. While I did really like the feel of the hogue stock I found it a little on the heavy side for my build plans due to the over mould material so I tracked down the butler creek which is lighter. There is room to lighten the stock too if I really wanted but I think it is good enough.
