Hi, first time posting here, so sorry if Im going over something already discussed. I have looked and couldnt find anything though.

I just got a Blackhawk Knoxx SpecOps Stock and a DA 12.5 Griz...and for the life of me i can not seem to get the stock on. The screw just wont seem to line up...the stock was for the 870, checked...anyone seen this before?

I heard of ppl having issue with some DA stock somewhere here. And I actually had a similar problem with one of the model of 870 we have at work.
The bolt nut has a different thread.
I guess Brownells can hook you up with that part for a couple dollars.

Or...the easy solution without having to order random part from Brownells is to just go to a auto shop dealer and get 8.8 or 10.8 grade bolt.

I had the same problem on a norinco hp-9 which is essentially the same gun. Ended up just swapping it over to my 12.5 grizz. Not sure what's up with the seemingly random problem.

Thanks all, I thought I was going crazy, the bolt does not look the right size at all. I am confused though as to how to get the bolt out of the stock, looks like its pretty hard to get out.

Which bolt are you talking about?

In your first post it sounded like you had already removed the Grizzly's stock and couldn't get the Knoxx to line up?

Thats right, sorry I am not a technical kinda person, so unsure what the proper terms would be. I removed the original stock without any issue, then tried to put on the knoxx. The threaded long screw inside the knoxx stock that attaches the stock to the main body of the firearm was what was giving me an issue. The size of it doesnt match up with the size of the coresponding hole on the firearm.

I spoke with Dave from Hical though (where I bought the stock) and he apparently knows about this already. As someone else posted a tap needs to be run through the Griz to make it match the knoxx stock. Since I dont have the know how for this, nor the equipment I am taking it in to HiCal so they can do this for me. Really hoping my dad appreciates it when he gets it, a belated birthday present for him.

I do have to say I am rather impressed and happy with HiCal, customer service is pretty darn good.

I installed the exact same setup on the exact same gun this week-end.
Are you sure that the ''exagonal bloc'' on the grizzly as not unscrew instead of staying on the receiver??

Yeah, positive on that one. From what I gather after speaking to a few people this is kind of a hit or miss issue. Some are fine, others are just a bit smaller...seems like an odd manufacturing thing, but I guess thats china for you? It might even be the BH Stock, and not the DA Griz. Either way the parts on the stock and the firearm I have are just not compatible without a tweak. It`s only going to cost me $40 for the fix, which I can live with.

I also just put the Gen2 (part# K07100-c) on mine this morning...easy peasy. The fore-end though needed some dremeling to allow it to fit properly.
