I tried a quick search, but I'm terrible with the search function on forums.

Has any one tried out the scope mount from Blackrose tactical? Looking for opinions or observations on the product.

Thanks

Derek

I don't know if its new. I am assuming it's fairly new as I haven't seen or read about one yet. I think I'm going to give it a shot shortly. Unless I find a reason not to.

I was checking their stuff out lately. I have a bad feeling about the mount after looking at their other optics products. They sell some overpriced knock-off scopes for 3X what they sell for on eBay, they have NF knockoff rings for $65 etc. They even sell an S&B knockoff for $600 or $700... I fear the mount may be a repackaged and marked up Chinese mount. A few members have their DC brakes and those look pretty good but the rest comes across as dirt merchant. I couldn't find a single review or even mention of the mount.

It's my opinion that a mount with a star knob on it's side was designed for airsoft. Looks nearly exactly the same as several I have seen from china. They also advertise a "smith style" brake..... Ron smith's style is to sue folks who use his names LOL
I dunno.... I also see mcmillan stocks listed on their site for remingtons and such. BC based company , maybe email em and ask where the mount is made?
Personally, I'd spend 20 or 30 dollars more and get a promag. These being the only "cheap" mount I'd ever recommend. The UTG tri rail is a good one too if you get one that fits right and are running forward optic only.... Anyhow LOTS of knock off airsoft crap being sold off as "m305" accessories so buyer beware

Yeah I hadn't thought about it being an airsoft part or something like that. The star wheel also made me raise an eye brow but I figured I could probably replace it with something. I'll email them and see what they have to say about it.

Thanks for the thoughts/opinions

Please don't waste your money - initial cost plus wasted ammo on something that doesn't hold zero. I've been there and done that. Get a Sadlak or Arms 18 or, if you don't care about keeping the irons, get a CASM from M14.ca

Yup good advice right there
Say.... You up north of me these days?? I got a wicked shootin spot just below the gibraltar mine. Will be spendin a few days up there shortly with a goal to put a BIG black bear in my irons ;)

now i wish i saw this thread before i got one. got one used off the ee to replace the casm i sold (which i wasnt fond of). rail is out of spec and i can't mount my sparc on it. i don't want to try and torque the vortex screw down or i'll end up stripping it. mounts my chinese rings no problem, so that may confirm its origin and not made by BRT in house. glad i got for less than what they wanted on their website but still a waste of money.

it mounted to my rifle just fine a locked up good, but its coming off and getting circular filed. sure as hell am not going to resell it.

i guess i'm saving up for a sadlak ;)
