Someone gave me this machine gun ammo belt and i don't have use to it. It's obviously a belt of about 200 rounds of unfired blank firing ammo held together bi metal links. how much it worth? Did someone will buy this?

Do yourself a favor and disconnect every 5 rounds in sections, because that is the maximum that is allowed.
It's obvious that he doesn't know the law in this respect.

As for the ammo, not to sure on what it's worth but if they're blanks I couldn't imagine too too much.

It's not a mag it's a belt, i don't see what's illegal there, but thank anyway.

Not illegal. some guys should do their homework before they speak... sheesh.
Thats the problem with CGN, too many armchair law experts

From my own experience, these armchair lawyers can make newbies paranoid reading posts on CGN. I paniced about several things myself until the info proved to be completely false. I've learned to take everything, and I mean every comment/post with a grain of salt. Hungry and 45ACPKING are an exception here. I trust their opinions.

OK Gents....the possession of blanks is not illegal, however the items are/were made for military use and were not surplused. Therefore the items are/still belong to the CF since blank ammo was not sold nor disposed of live. Your in possession of stolen property. Will the CF/Crown proceed to charges? Not likely....but that is point being made here. So not armchair lawyers....but a missunderstanding of what part is illegal.

So selling this stuff is not an option then. i supposed that the best thing is to get rid of this in the safest manner. (read: fire them and throw away the brass) The person that give this to me is not in the military nor a criminal.

You do what you think is best. Will you be charged for being in possession of it? Highly unlikely. Can you sell it? Well that is up to you. I look at things a little different than some on the board being a military guy. Your mileage may vary....
