Hello I just bought a k98k. I immedeatly noticed that there are absolutly no marking on the reciever. no factory, no WaA, not even mod type stamped on the side of the reciever, not even a serial number!? I thought that it was a soviet RC because of the purple-ish extractor and bolt release. The stock is laminate with an "oil type" ie not shellacked or varithained. A stamp in ink is on the butt stock, it is "20/IV". A few parts have a WaA stamp. Front sight is hooded. I measured with callipers the dimentions of the reciever ring and sided wall to determine if the rifle had been machined down, it is not. Unfortunetly the rifle has been tapped for scope mounts. Has anyone else come across a blank k98? It is not a yugo M48BO, it's a k98k.
