Blaser cost?!

You are paying for the system. Not just the rifle in it's current configuration.

This thread truly has it all. We are back to rifles "shooting better than me". Savage accuracy is nothing special in 2026 and as HC says wildly over emphasized by the just as gud crowd.

Design, straight pull, modularity are what you're paying for with an r8, budget guns don't compare in literally any way

There is a video on YouTube showing the FBX factory and how they are made. Simply incredible. I was ready to pull the trigger on a DT11 until I saw this. I want an FBX now. The modularity even with the F3 barrels is awesome.

I've got zero interest in ever buying a Blaser. But I am very aware of them, especially through watching African hunting videos, which I love to do.
I remember reading about them, when they initially were brought onto the market.

I'll stick to flogging my Winchesters, Remingtons, Rugers, Marlins etc...

So all that being said, the cost of Blaser rifles doesn't affect me one iota.

Actually you can hunt elk out to end of February with an undersubscribed cow elk tag. Or could last year anyways. General bull tag + uns cow gave you 4 months plus to kill 2 elk if you were so inclined.

Buddy has a Blaser and I like it a lot but I'd be elicited pink with a Sauer 80/90 or a 404. Lots of them in Africa as well as Blasers.
 
One thing I always thought as funny is for the money you pay for them why do they put plastic sights on them.As for a nice German gun I much prefer my Mauser 66 stutzen

Big game season starts in late August, through to the end of November; some wildlife zones will end the hunting season in February. Western hunters have a few rifles, a lone Savage rifle is not on the menu.

Edit. Forgot about the winter elk seasons. It’s like 3 months a year we can’t hunt big game. Blessed. Truly blessed.

There is a great possibility that my son may be drawn this year for cow elk, in the Great Plains, during February of 2027. He said that he will only target a calf.

The finish doesn't wear off, they don't bend. I can remember the uproar years ago when they started making "plastic" snowmobile skis. You can't find one with a metal ski for many years now.
