All, is it good ammo to be used in my Ruger PCC ? i heard mixed reviews for using aluminium jacket.

i got it for 20$ for 50pack at cabellas . Should i use or return ?

usecase - range only

Aluminum often disagrees with straight blowback firearms. It is advised by Ruger themselves not to with the .40, I am confident it's a no-go in 9mm too. The issues can include case separations so experiment at your own risk. BTW calling Blazer 9mm FMJ is generous. The "jacket" is more like ultra thin foil. Much thinner than typical plating let alone jackets.

Like B said, most manufacturers advise against it as general rule. But tons of people have said they run it with no problems. But again, like B said, the failure you're likely to encounter is a case head separation, where the extractor rips the case in half, leaving half of it in the chamber with no decent way to get it out. Pain in the @ss to remove, decent chance you damage your chamber in the process.

Boom. Thanks. I will return it. FMJ is as advertised by CCI / Cabela's.

On other hand.. is the following 2 okay ? and which one you will suggest ? is it a deal or i can even cheaper ?

Blazer brass and PMC are both great options. When I was still running factory ammo I shot almost exclusively Blazer Brass and had no issues. Not because it's better necessarily, but because it was the cheapest reliable ammo available that wasn't sketchy.

I understand it's marketed as "FMJ", I am just commenting on how incredibly thin the "jacket" is. It's also not recommended (brass and AL cased) for any firearm with porting/compensator because of the jacket often being peeled off by such devices. I experienced it myself while playing with a Glock 17C converted to automatic in a freer part of the world.

looks like i dont have any other choice then to try it out now. I cant return it.

price wise is it a good deal ? 0.39 per bullet. i know reloading might be cheaper, but im not there yet.

Ammo is final sale no returns at Cabela’s

Thanks. I just checked as well. i thought i can return it as it was online order.

That's true on both counts. However, Ruger has no problem with you doing it in the 9mm version of the PCC (it's in the manual).

Not the Ruger but my FX9 manual specifically says NOT to use aluminum rounds and that is a blowback 9mm as well. As a general rule, I have not used aluminum rounds, but that's just me. Sure they are cheaper, but for me, I keep all my brass anyway and would rather pay a bit more knowing that I won't have problems. Here's where the manuals also give some guidance - some things I didn't know until I read the manual like with my FX9 (ie. with my former Kriss Vector 9mm, it said explicitly not to run +P rounds on it as it will have a very detrimental effect on the rifle).

That said the Ruger manual doesn't say anything otherwise, I would presume there is no guidance towards encouraging the use of aluminum or avoiding it, which by implication would mean it should be ok.

I have run a steady diet of aluminum through my Ruger PCC and I have not had any issues at all. As thegazelle stated the FX9 specifically says no aluminum but there is nothing in the Ruger manual.

I was too lazy to check my manual. I know Barnaul steel cased runs fine but I have never had any aluminum cased stuff to try. I avoid it to be honest, for the modest price difference I have typically seen I always just spent the extra for brass cased ammo with a proper jacket. I have been reloading pretty well everything I shoot since the beginning of the last panic so it's not a concern any more.

Thanks all. will try that. its not the cost of ammo. Brass and aluminium rounds differ by only few dollars for box a box of 50.

But at cabelas i added it so i can free shipping :D lol. brass was not on sale and i know for a fact that cabela sells for more price than local stores (unless there is a sale)

will try then. if something happens i can ask for warranty as its not in the manual :D

This is true. It's probably one of the better of the value priced tier of ammo for 9mm that doesn't have cases coming out like they were just BBQed (*cough* Winchester White Box *cough*). PMC Bronze is also good, and for me I have found the Magtech (not Maxxtech, which is garbage) rounds to be good. Same for the Federal American Eagle and my personal favourite the Federal Syntechs (they really do foul less).

Fiocchi is pretty good too, though I don't have extensive amounts of experience with it (just two boxes' worth or 100 rounds). Blazer Brass goes bang every time and it won't break the bank. PMC I think is underrated, as I have found it to run great in my guns, irrespective of caliber (if you have ever shot the .223 Bronze, they come out almost as shiny as they go in, unlike *cough* Winchester White Box *cough*

I personally would stay away from Scorpio. I had some bad batches, and I know some stores are really pushing them, but there have been mixed reviews from users of it.

Agree about Blazer quality for the price. I find the S&B rounds to be exceptional too, fired casings look like they just came out of the tumbler

Personally, id put the aluminum case in the back of your safe and save it (it wont go bad LOL) and pick up a box of brass case
Its always good to have some "in case of emergency" ammo anyway :)

You "can" run it but since your gun is brand new, I'd spend the $4 more on better ammo

in my ruger i run Winchester white box 115 gr. and as thegazelle mentions its def dirty, but its also cheap and it always goes bang..... Its seems like I have a type....
