Question for you 308 gas gun reloading gurus.
I have had excellent success loading 308 using both Varget and RL15 getting +/- 1/2 MOA in my bolt guns and typically 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 MOA in a 308 gas gun. I find very minute differences in accuracy / velocity between the two.
I will keep using RL15 and Varget in my bolt guns for precision but want to reload “accurate” bulk ammo for the gas gun. I tried doing this with a hornady progressive press using Varget and rl-15 and got very very inconsistent powder charges and gave up.
Depriming and resizing were done off the progressive press when I tried this little bulk loading experiment.
I know BLC-2 will meter well (likely the same as other ball powders i use for bulk pistol loading) but will accuracy suffer given the type of powder compared to Varget and RL15 (ball vs stick). Obviously Load development will be required.
Is there a more accurate ball powder i should try instead of BLC-2 for bulk loading?
Any experienced guidance is appreciated.
