Blew It On A Wolf - Season 7

So My72jeep sent me the trail cam pictures last night and tried to convince me to take some time off work this AM and go with them. I left at coffee to grab a Timmie's and as I was really driving into the office, they were diving out from looking for me. When I looked at it, the size of its head and the size of its paws, the first thing I thought was it was the largest we have ever killed. Big set of teeth and a really nice pelt.

They took it over to Gunner410s place of work with my scale and hooked it up to the forklift to weigh it. Gunner410's boss apparently was more excited thanG410. I have one of the pics on my cell phone, I will try and post tomorrow.

Very happy for her, I hunted with her father and lost a good friend when he passed away. Good to see her using one of his rifles and his handloads to take this one down! Just need to get her nose out of the way next time......

Well that's it till the fall as I am away for the last weekend of the season. It was the best winter we ever had, but unfortunately Gunner410 still has his cherry when it comes to shooting a wolf. Hopefully he can use his tag when we start up again after the moose hunt has closed. Thanks for all of the positive feedback.

I don't know if this is still season 6 or the start of 7, Chas will set me straight. Yesterday my wife an I set out our game cam looking at a pail of scraps. This morning at 07.30 we took a drive out to swap the SD card, the pail was empty and the cam showed 65 photos.(crows, turkey vultures, and a few eagles) we put he cam out to see what if any thing is around. We did see lots of tracks of foxes, bears, and wolf(a few big ones) but nothing live on our bait.
As it was a nice morning and being with out our daughter, she was at grandmas we decided to look around a bit. As we were driving down a power line across the main road from where we normally hunt, my wife points out this white birch stumped says is that a deer? As this is not deer country I say no. But as we get closer to it it still looks like a 3 foot high birch stump with the bark peeling at the top. Then the one piece of bark moves then the other turns out it was a light tan to all most white coyote sunning its self. So I guess we are both hooked for a new season.

I mite give wolf a try this winter got pretty good work schedule for a change if I see one I'm taking it but definitely going to do some coyote hunting I have to justify my FLIR PS 32 and ATRS modern hunter 6.5CM would be good medicine for wolfs
Any one hear hunt up around Grand Prairie
