blind cover for Jon boats

Can always do what I did for a canoe - get a roll of burlap shrub wrap from the harware store and cut it in half and then sew or tack it together lengthwise. Should match the cattail colours well and is cheap. Just drape over the boat

wrer abouts are you i never heard of that place .i have a roll of fom back camo that wold work perfect will post a pic i am in NORwich just south of woodstock DUTCH

I have a 14 ft Tracker from Bass Pro. Very stable in general I like it but...........there are no gussets in the back from the transom to the floor. I feel this will be the failing of the boat. I expect it will crack the transom eventually. I only run a 6 Yamaha on it and you can see it flex when throttling up. If you were to put the 10 on it as it is rated I think it would be hard on it.
Pretty quick for the H.P. I have on it.

I have built removable blinds for boats in the past.I put the small conduit brackets on the side of the gunwale of the boat. I built the frames out of 1/2 inch copper pipe. Elbows , tees , couplers ect. solder them up. Bought mess camo from army surplus. Draped it over and Ty wraps to pipe.

On the bow and stern I used a pipe long enough to go from side to side and on each end a 90 degree elbow down. On each end of the sides a tee with a short nipple pointing up.
It held the sides together and acted as a gate to get out , just lift one end and swing.

Came off in about 30 sec. if you want to drive the boat. Or I could drive with it up but it really grabbed the wind. I didn't think it was too heavy.

Good Luck

Dutch.... I'm outside of Hanover area.
I have a Jon 12' from basspro.
The only problem is when geese come over head, I have a spot I dug out the cat tails and can park in them for cover, it's when they fly over head before landing that can spook them away from landing close by.

I like the boat for fishing and hunting, light and a flat bottom, due to water in the place I hunt and fish gets as low as 4 inches in late fall. I use a 38 LB thrust and cruises right along with it.
I do have a gas motor, but when I bought it from the guy, it leaked out of the bottom of the float bowl, so it now sits and is going up for sale. It ran fine.

I have 1436 Ultracraft with a 9.9 Yamaha and it's rated for up to a 15hp. My boat doesn't have gusset on the floor to transom either and I have no flex. Mine does have corner plates at the top of the gunnels (sidewall/transom) for reinforcement......it also welded along all the seams/corners except the seats & floor ribs are riveted in.

Let me know what you come up with for a blind I'd be interested to see too.

Those tracker flat bottoms that BPS sell are very lightly built so don't expect them to last a lifetime without plenty of repairs. I did one in in the first two seasons I had it and completely re-riveted it twice in the next 10 years as well as repaired cracks in the hull corners and I am NOT hard on my stuff. I am currently running a Triton, 1 foot shorter and about 8" less beam width than my old tracker john boat and the hull weight is more than double! 510 pounds versus 240?? This is season #6 coming up this fall and not one issue! You get what you pay for! ;)

I have a PrinceCraft aka "Lowe" 1440M with the modified v bow. I run a 9.9HP on it, and it goes pretty darn good with 2 guys. This fall I made a frame from square aluminum, 2x4 & fast grass, worked okay. Overall, I found that I could just as easily park the boat, hide in the natural cover & have a good shoot...

I do like the looks/idea of one of the commercial frames & camo net jobbies... Anyone got pics of theirs set up like that?

Cheers
Jay
