BLO vs DBLO

OKay, I don't work with wood or finishes very often, so excuse my ignorance. I know that most people call to use double boiled linseed oil for refinishing milsurps. So far, I've only found boiled linseed oil (Home Depot, Cdn Tire). What is the difference and where can I find DBLO.

My replacement Ross Rifle stock has been staring at me for too long and I've got to get 'er done.
 
Actually, BLO = DBLO. Same thing. 303carbine is thinking DBLO vs. RLO (raw linseed oil).

The raw stuff will work too but takes longer to dry.
 
I just took a look at the can I heve been using, it's double boiled linseed oil. Takes ages to get a good finish but well worth the time involved.

Raw linseed won;t rot a stock. The original milsurp finish was raw linseed oil. Boiled linseed oil as we know it today didn't even exist till after WW2 ;)

I found it on eBay. It was somewhere in the states. It was listed as "unknown military rifle stock". It had an hour left on it with no bids. I think I paid around 25 bucks for it plus shipping. Needless to say, i did a happy dance when I got it. It's in excellant shape for a hundred year old piece of wood (only a few minor dings).
 
Tung oil

Comes from the , yep...tung tree. Hear the U.S. and some others used it up to WWII, so early Garands,Springfields,M1917. They switched to Linseed once Tung oil became hard to get (so I read somewhere). Tung oil has a dying agent in it. The stuff Home-Depot sells called Tung&Teak oil is ok but meant for furniture etc so goes on thin and might not be as durable. As for Tru-oil, I find it dries way to fast and looks like varnish therefore have to rub it down with fine wool etc. Hard to beat double boiled linseed oil, maybe cut with a little Terpentine.

I used raw linseed oil with a bit of turpintine on my katana shirasaya saya.
(raw wood scabbard) ,it took several coats and a long time to dry but was a nice finish. The people I talked to recomended raw linseed oil over the boiled specifically and I would like to know what the difference in the finish is?
