Blocking off a magazine well

I have a 280 Ross sporter that I cannot (so far) find a magazine for . I tried to fabricate one but that didn't quite work . I want to hunt with this rifle this fall and don't think it would be a good idea to fire this potent cartridge when the stock is unsupported in the magazine area .
I was thinking of inserting a tight fitting wooden block into the magazine well but don't want to glue it in .....unless there is a glue that I could easily nullify when I do make/find a magazine.
I could tape the inside of the well with duct tape then insert an epoxy covered wooden block . After the epoxy cures remove the tape and I would have nice tight fitting block.....
Any ideas or would this be necessary at all .

Instead of duct tape, perhaps try saran wrap? It will fight you less when it comes time to remove it.

Also, try a bit of whatever epoxy you are using on some of the blocking agent (duct tape or saran wrap) just to see how it bonds (or dissolves) it. If the epoxy were puttyish in texture, it might even work to very lightly grease or oil the saran wrap to dissuade it from sticking.


That's just me though. I've never tried it on guns, so maybe people with experience bedding an action would be able to better say.
