Glad to see this video. I am looking forwards to getting a K31 and have already purchased a little crate of GP11 ammo.
I have also bought a Globco 30-30 sporterized 1889 that still has the big rear sight on it, which only adjusts down to 300m. Were the Swiss
confident that they would not have to do any close up shooting or was it simply that they felt 300m would work good enough?

I have taller front sights available for 1889 and LG96/11 & LG1911 (LG= Langes Gewehr/Long rifles).

300m sight still allows a man size chest hit from muzzle distance to at least 300m.
Gives the soldiers a chance for a few shots if charged by cavalry.
