blood on blood

I've cut myself lots of times when gutting and skinning animals and never had an infection yet but I've also seen a guy get flesh eating dease from a beer bottle cut.
 
Well fogducker i think you will be okay, no horns or anything but the next generation could be in trouble. That is assuming you have any more kids after being infected, just watch some good hollywood movies and you`ll see what will happen.:p Maybe go out and buy a new toy for yourself, you`ll feel better about any impending doom.:D
 
I would think cutting yourself while gutting would have a higher risk of infection but washing well would most likely take care of it.
 
My friends have a running joke that I cut my self on every animal I have to work on, never had an infection from a cut. That said had a dandy infection from a sharp moose rib that punctured my arm while moving a quarter into the butcher shop it got nasty fast and needed a doctors visit and some pills
 
This sounds like a good plot for a new Hunter Super hero. Fogducker cuts himself while gutting radioactive deer. Two days later he feels two strange bumps growing from his forehead. Antlerman is born! Now we just have to think of a sidekick for him, lol.
 
As mentioned earlier by other members, with any amount of butchering meat you are bound to nick yourself a few times or almost sever your thumb splitting salmon, but that’s another story. The only real concern is infection in the wound, and the best advices clean the area as quickly as possible. Especially while cleaning “Wild Bologna” or “Salt Water Rabbits”, you do not want to o get their blood in your system, zombie comes to mind.

your in the middle of butchering or prepping and you cut your finger..no rubber gloves around,its hot out and you have to get the job done ASAP...:redface:

I thought you couldn't hunt this season? If you really miss it though, you can come and gut a deer or two for me..... ;)
 
I cut myself on a busted rib gutting a deer on the last week of october. It took a while to heal but turned out ok. Aside from chasing does for the next 3 weeks I didnt' notice anything out of the ordinary .
