If you don't normally wear 2XL in jacket/coats, then this will not be the right size for you. It shouldn't shrink.

I'll likely have a sale item in XL, in a softshell jacket, and few other tru-spec apparel, like field shirt and polo shirts, not coats left.

I believe the fit true to size. If you never wear a 2xl, then this likely will be bit too large. Maybe a tad looser, to accomodate a Vest underneath, since they are made for L.E.O.'s.
