I have a BLR , this thing has logged many miles with me in the woods, have had it for over 10 years, i got it off an old man that bought it new then had a heartattack and never had it out. this thing is had to cycle! since i got it i have had to really come on to it to get it to lever. never really noticed till my buddy shot it last year and made the comment , no way he could make a fathow up shot with it, and the trigger is harsh. is there a gunsmith in nova scotia thats got experiance with this gun? i want to get it losed up and the trigger pull lighted?

Must be dirty or the wrong lubricant. I have a BLR that I have owned since new (25 years) and I only need my fingers to open and close the lever. The rifle stays on my shoulder, hand on the grip and I flick open and closed the lever with my fingers (I do have large hands) never loosing the target and ready for a follow up shot (which I might add is seldom required :D ). I needs a good cleaning.

Call Browning in Monteal. They have their own Smith on premises. I have used them and he is a qualified browning armourer. Your problem sounds like a bolt to lever adjustment. Do not do this yourself. Try a good spray cleaner followed by a light teflon oil. Bob
