Good Day!

Just wondering what king of three shot groups you are getting from your Browning BLR's
Please also include the caliber and at what distance.

Thanks

Browning BLR accuracy...

I've had 3 different BLR's... all in .308 Win, two were the stick out mag model, one was the flush mag model. For 3 shot groups all would do 2 shots touching with the third being a bit of a flyer. I always attributed it to the barrel heating up. Even so the 3rd tended to be a flyer it would still be sufficiently accurate for hunting purposes. I liked the BLR's but I have a pre-mil Savage 99 in .308 Win in a lever now instead.

^^ what he said.

1st 2 under one inch, 3rd opens to 1.5. You don't want to know what 5 looks like. Mine is an older Japan model in 308

My .308 that I sold - and should never have sold - shot as good as any off the shelf hunting rifle. My current .243 BLR shoots a little better and is responsible for taking the largest white tail of my life at 230 paces with a 100 grain Nosler partition handload. It will shoot into 1.5" all day, and I am not the greatest rifle shot either.

Gotta love BLR's, and 7600's and Model 700's, and AR15's and handguns .....

My 25-06,shot at 100m ,group within .5 inch all the time, handload 120gr of NP.Its a little too heavy and too long for hunting.

Have/had them in: 243, 270, 308, 30-06, 300wm, 450.

All are cloverleaf accurate as long as I'm up to it. I practice from 100yds for the most part. Have a 450yd target I shoot with the 300, and occassionally make a try with the 450. Hey, I've actually come pretty close. :p

I have also owned 3. (.358,.270,.308) Accuracy always better than anticipated, ie. sub 1" from a rest with factory ammo

remember, they are a lever actuated bolt rifle..=darn fine hunting rig;)

300 Win. Mag. Despite the abismal trigger, this rifle shot 165gr Partitions and Hot-Cors into 1.5" at 100yds. I shot a couple of 4"groups at 300yds.
Nice rifles IMO, and would be wayyyyy better if they could touch up that trigger.

I was working at Barotto Sports when the BLR's first came on the market. One of the owners wanted a .243 so he picked out a scope gave it to me to mount up and a box of Factory CIL 100 grain to sight it in and test it...

It shot a couple of 5 shot groups under an inch... I was very impressed with it...

Both steel receivers: 284 win - 2 shots touching, 3rd 1" away @ 100 yrds, 2" group @ 200 yrds, Speer 160 gr, SP @ 2700 fps

358 Win - 2 shots touching, 3rd 1 1/4 " away @ 100 yrds , 2 1/2" group at 200 yrds, Nosler 225 gr Partition @ 2470 fps.

3 shots in about a minute. If I let it cool between shots they will tighten up to a near cloverleaf. I can hit a softball with both @ 300 yrds as long as I am shooting good lol.

The one that I remember especially well is one that "made the rounds" amongst the EE buyers, I'm told. ;) It was a pre-81 BLR (hand down mag) model in .243. It seemed to shoot every load I put through it well...as I was told it would. :)

I'm looking forward to my next BLR!

Yep first 2 shots on mine were always good followed by a flyer with #3. I had a BLR in 308. Nice rifle. My only issue was the horrendous trigger. It came out of the factory around 7.5 pounds. My gun smith worked on it and got it down under 5 but it was hard to shoot at the range when my other rifles triggers are set at 2.5 pounds.

I had my BLR 22-250 at the range yesterday. At 100 yards it shot a one inch cloverleaf. This rifle is the most accurate rifle I own as it does this every time I shoot it bar none!
