Well 110gr bullet over 4895 at about 3000, or 145s over 748 at 2900 seems to work. (I think that is what you asked, hard to tell)

It's worth $500.00 - $650.00 if it's in nice original condition. If it was in .358 win, add another $150.00 or so.

The only problem with the pre -81 BLR's is the fact that the clips are scarce and sell for $200.00 - $300.00 alone.

The BLR's that were made in Belgium (1970 - 1973) are maybe a little more desirable, as they had a hand rubbed oil finish with hand cut checkering.
When production moved to Japan in '73, the stocks had a gloss finish, even more so by the late '70's.

Still great rifles though, very accurate, and reliable, and as you noticed, they feel great!

I just realized that my Belgium made BLR's oil finish is most likely original. How would I find out if it is original? and any idea what they are worth?

They are worth only slightly more, all depends on condition.

I've seen Belgium made BLR's in excellent original condition go for $600.00 - $700.00.

The last three digits of the serial number will tell you the year of manufacture, K70=1970, K71=1971, K72=1972, K73=1973.
Some time in early 1973, production moved to Japan, so to find one with a 1973 serial number would be rare.

The Japanese made BLR's had a different serial number range altogether.

Also, they didn't come from the factory with sling studs or swivels, so if your's has sling studs, they were added later.

I've got an unfired one from 1971 in dead mint, 100% original condition, paid $1000.00 for it.
