Years ago I bought a Browning BLR(Japan) in.308.I bought this rifle new in 1976.A few years later I gave it to a family member.A couple of years ago.I had it given back to me(quit hunting). If I remember right it had a half #### saftey, now it goes to full cockIt dont seem to bother while shooting I just dont like carrying a hammergun with one in the chamber.Could someone enlighten me on this issue. Thanks

and gave him the manual with it. It appears theres at least 2 carry recommendations so far,BLR 81 like mine and the early 1990s forward, with the newer folding hammer to be carried at half #### and then folded forward. I can't find an online manual for the older ones like mine, but I will get it from my buddy later this week and quote it directly. There must be someone else here with a 1980s made BLR 81, that still has the owners manual and can quote the carry position.
