BLR short action optics

Folks I am soaking this all in. I own a few Browning long guns but this is my only BLR.

I am currently formulating a plan to mount a 1-8 power variable mounted as low as possible. (thx Hand Skills!) Not sure which one but short list of Burris-Leupold-NF. Might not be in time for this coyote season, but next year I want to be fully prepared with this rifle.

Thx again !

I have handled the latest low variable Burris the 1-6x24.
Can't say I am happy with the clearances underneath. Obviously made for an AR type rail mount.

I probably will end up with a Leupold 1-6x24, but I don't with to settle with the 1-4 Firedot. That's getting on the low side for top end magnification IMO.
I have yet to handle a Nightforce though.

Six power I think is important as lowest acceptable magnification for called in dogs.

My two bits only.

I love my BLRs! Here is a short action BLR .358 with talleys and a 1-4x Trijicon. Happy Shootin!

That looks like a perfect combo for a BLR.

I once saw a gun store owner sell a 4-12x50 to a BLR 308 owner. It was a bloody stoopid set up that required ex high rings in order to clear the scope.

Yup ....... We pioneered the use of see-thru rings with a tasco 3-9. That combo is most seen on a Remington semi auto and pump actions.

I'm much too sophisticated to use such things, preferring the Weaver system on my rifles, besides why would I need and handle for my rifles when I'm road hunting?
