I've just used up a portion of my BlueWonder bluing supply and discovered that I had exhausted the 'developer' supply sometime in the past. I guess I'll see if it is vital in the next couple of days. Anybody out there know if the chemistry is critical? Is there a substitute? The tube just says it is a petroleum product. Any info would be appreciated.

cheers Jim

I would start by maybe looking for the MSDS sheet for the various components.

Unless there is some proprietary magic in the materials used, the major portion of the components should be identified.

Tried the Company yet? Might be worthwhile.

Company website refuses to respond to out of country requests at present. It just times out when you request info.
No details of chemistry beyond generalities and warnings. I'll try to find the MSDS info, but I'm no optimistic.

Well the blue looks okay, the ATF coating didn't seem to change anything, and after the lube there has been no changes over two days. What will happen over a longer time span, I will have to wait and see. Since the listed chemicals on the bluing bottle are very similar to Brownells OxphoBlue, I get just a bit suspicious. The OxphoBlue odour is not there of course. I'll report any changes in a month or so.

cheers Jim
