I'm thinking about putting together a bit of a frankenstein rifle w/ a blued Sako action, stainless barrel and Mcmillan stock. Is that just a recipe for an ugly rifle or can it "work" aesthetically? I know many of us take pride in the way our rifles look so I'm curious what the consensus is.

And of course, if anyone has any examples/pics, please post them! Thanks! :)

Ruger and Savage did it too....I have many rifles with blue actions and stainless barrels...looks fine to me....now, a stainless action with a blued barrel?...that would look funny, but it has been done also.

I dig the look. It's different but not too different. I've got a stainless .257 bore on the way for a blued / wood M70. It'll be my first stainless and my first AI all at once.:D

Thanks for the responses. I gotta admit, I'm not crazy about the way it looks but I am crazy enough to try it for myself. :p I'll have to look into it a bit further. Cheers!
