Yikes!!!!! I took my blued one home for a little over $600, stainless were like $650 in 2012.

They must be cheaper somewhere else. Seems high.

In the news today, the Bank of Canada reports that inflation is 1.8%. Canadian surveys report no one believes them and everyone stopped listening a long time ago.

Mine was $550 last year I think. I love it, but the bluing is nothing special. Its a beast of a gun and shoots great so has a character all of its own. The SA pull is really good, been great for working on the basics.

Mines blue. The standard of bluing entirely suits the rugged aspect of the gun in a way that deep bluing in the Colt Python style would not.

These guns have a very good D/A, different from a Smith but not worse, and a S/A pull I find just slightly less likeable than a Smith.

Good value, built like a tank, will last forever. I like Smith's, but I have more confidence in this (my first) Ruger D/A.

^ what I paid for my blued one as well. $1000 for a GP100 is a "no sale" for this guy, I'd buy a Smith.

I got one of the new model 66 ones in gently used condition for less, and it's a nifty little counterpoint to the heavy/chunky 4.2" Ruger.

Otherwise, yeah - for around a grand it'd be 586/686 no brainier. My new 586 has developed an unbelievable trigger in a few hundred rounds.

The gp100 edges it out for DA pull, though neither have been tweaked. I like shooting the GP in DA with specials. At the right price it's a fine little gun for sure.
