use to run my blueing tanks at salmon arm bc had real scungy water . but it worked great for blueing . so a year ago i moved to grand forks here i have the niced water, great drinking, soft . but i leaves an awful film on a barrel when i comes out . i have to take it out rinse immodestly amd wipe it down with clear water and a scotch brite .

Same here. For slow rust bluing, I buy 4 liter jugs of distilled water from the pharmacy.
