Starting to get worried. My rifle was supposed to arrive in Cranbrook, BC on Friday (3-day XPost, shipped last Tueday, morning). It's now Monday afternoon, and still "in transit". I will freak out if it was lost or stolen, as this rifle is very special. To make matters worse, I only insured it for $1200... as I have never had an issue with CP before.

Rust blue barrel, case colour harden receiver and all other metal parts. Though, having said that, I want him to assess whether or not there's a risk of warping. If so, a complete rust-bluing instead. The stock to be stripped and propertly oil finished. Reset the barrel band. Replace rear sight with an express style sight. And, a few small things.

I'd rust blue the whole shebang. You could get some of the other bits and pieces case hardened but to my eye case hardened receivers are too much. And since you'll be putting it on the EE in a few months...

OK... getting more worried. Still "in transit"... meaning that it has not been scanned by any post office or sorting facility since leaving Ontario on Tuesday! I paid for 3-day XPost, but we're now into day 6. I will cry if this rifle was "lost"... the only one in my collection worthy of the name "heirloom".

Since my commercial small-ring 98 is still with Ralf, and I've been eager to have my BSA Martin Cadet (32-20) get the identical treatment (reblued barrel, all other pieces case colour hardened, and stock restored) I sent the rifle to Oskar Kob. First impressions after speaking with Oskar is that there's no finer gentleman to do business with; a real stand-up guy! I feel confident that he's the best out there. Now I have to wait... and not spend any more money or I'll be divorced again!
