Bluing and Case Colour Hardening

My custom small-ring 98 Mauser in 7x57 originally built by Richard Gibbs and barrelled by Denis Sorensen (“Guntech”), but fully refinished by Ralf Martini and Oskar Kob ...

(Not great photos. I will update with better photos once I receive the rifle from Ralf Martini. Ralf still has to polish and nitre blue the extractor.)

My newly acquired BSA Martini .310 Cadet in 32-20 ...

(Low quality phone pics. Oskar makes a much better gunsmith than a photographer. I will update with better photos once I receive the rifle from Oskar)

Here's my Martini Cadet (32-20), day 1 at home. Oskar managed to get the whole job done in 1 month, and that includes him taking a 1 week trip to BC! Top notch man and highly recommended!

I was going to offer to go and pick that Martini up from Oskar for you but it already made it to you. So here's hoping CP loses that Mauser again. Maybe they'll screw up and put my postal code on the box...;)

I m planning on having Oskar case my J Vennables Francotte martini sporting rifle in 22lr.Gun has a 26 inch ovate barrel with a full rib with rear express sights.Unfortunately someone in its past had the barrel drilled for a scope(idiot) ruining the collectors value.Good thing is she s a tack driver

Chasseur; Very nice rifle. I can see she would be a tack driver! Collector value meant little to me as well when I learned that a some point in my Cadet's life it was re-chambered to 32-20 and some idiot also removed the barrel with a standard vise! Oskar was able to beautifully polish out most of the vise imprints and reblue the barrel. Its an outstanding shooter. Oskar tested the rifle and told me "now I see why you like this rifle so much!". :)

CP isn't the bottleneck in this case... Ralf Martini has had my rifle since early February! :) The guy is so popular (for good reason), that I suspect he's over-busy. Yeah, she's a special rifle... and worked on by 4 of the best gunsmiths in this country.

My "dicked up parts rifle" just came home from Martini Gunmakers after a 4+ month wait... and I was shocked to see what a plastic bag can do to an oiled gunstock!!! What a horror story. It's in a box back to Martini to be fixed! I have to keep telling myself that sh!t happens and to be patient. The good news is that Oskar Kob's colour case hardening job looks good.
